Jenny Humphrey's Style Change Made Total Sense + my favorite Jenny summer Outfits
signed - a Jenny Humphrey's style post season 1 defender
the 90s grunge/rocker look was always going to end up coming more natural to Jenny than the Upper East Side/Blair Waldorf aesthetic at some point. Her dad was a former rockstar in the 90s. Did Jenny and Dan grow up with the music of Nirvana and The Cranberries? Hole? The music and its scene she was raised on by Rufus could’ve influenced the types of clothes and color palette she gravitated towards. It just felt natural and was fun to watch her find her style. Even if some looks were questionable, but that always comes with trying out a new look, the awkward trial and error part.
Out of all of the characters style wise, I relate to Jenny the most. The leather jackets, the eyeliner.. In a world filled with New York City penthouses, and hotels, rich people problems that seem way cooler and a Nate Archibald in existence, I get to see a small part of me in a world that is so unfortunately not me.
(And even if somehow the opportunity presented itself to have a Nate, I don’t even want a Nate, I want the Nate. The one that is literal fiction.)
